This 165 keys hotel with a 10,000 sq ft banquet is compactly designed on a challenging plot of irregular shape and constrained size of 1.3 acres, abutting the main by-pass road with heavy vehicular traffic. A courtyard opening up from the drop-off point acts as a buffer to shield the traffic noise and create a serene hospitable environment. The hotel entrance and banquet facility is designed within this courtyard - creating interesting vistas.
The main lobby is located on the upper level with landscape and soft-scape opportunities on various levels in the form of terraces to introduce a breather from the compact planning.
The main block comprising the guest rooms is divided into two parts, connected by bridges to generate a distinct form. The architectural language is contemporary and minimalist with simple, yet elegant fenestrations. Strategic use of wood roots the building into the local context.
