Atana Musandam Resort, Oman

The plot is located in Khasab, Mussandam, which is the northern most part of Oman. The plot is situated on a reclaimed land which juts out into the water and is bounded by water channels. The proposed development is to provide a 4 star hotel of 110 hotel rooms with an ambience and quality not available in the region. The hotel rooms are planned in clusters facing and bounding the water channels with a central main building which houses the restaurant, lounge, administrative and back of house facilities.  They include various types of rooms such as the Studios, Suites and duplex units. 

The development reflects a contemporary, functional and innovative design grounded with a strong Omani character. Extensive use of timber with a rough finish for various elements and rough plaster on block walls give a rustic look to the buildings. Use of thatch and timber screens in the pergolas and vertical division screens with the rough uneven finish allows the sun to filter through and add to the rustic look.
